engine was rattly WHEN i done a oil change and never changed, the engine noise got worse so i checked the oil and found it was low,,,,, i did check the oil hence i discovered it,,, the engine still had fucked tappets though


i got a bmw,,,, i drive it once a week ( if that ) but i DO miss having a toy to play with,,,,, thats why i still got the escort cabrio,,,,, i MIGHT also be considering options for another bmw to make as a toy too but didnt wanna tell others as it was just a thought outloud hence then space aint a issue

I spent ages thinking like this until someone supercharging a 1700 zetec explained to me that it isn't the case.

mark i was thinking a supercharger is like a turbocharger aprt from its not as good at high RPM and not a huge punch of power like a turbo but will give extra power due to forced induction

if we talking about a fairly small turbo for the power like we would normally use then very little if any difference at high rpm if boost, charge temps, etc, is all equal.

also if its running the same boost and all else (inc charge temps) is equal it will give the same "punch" too, if not more so.

theres a lot of hatred here,but im just picking up practical bits and pieces,ginge,dont even bother looking at a mini supercharger on the 325. i have a 325 and the charger will nearly be out of puff at the engines std output,plus i looked in the engine bay of mine with steves actual charger in my hand,theres no space,at all,really.thats why they fit the gay type of superchargers to them,cos theyre a different size and shape. i also looked at the 4.4 v8 into the e36,far too much trouble,reading from someone who actually did it,it costs loads and it would be sooooo much easier and cheaper to get a yank v8 in there!
if youve got the spare time and cash to do this then crack on mate,see what happens,if its not an issue if you accidentally blow it up then just try things etc...
