In the last quarter according to JD power, more 3 series BMW's were sold new than Ford Focus' in the UK.

Most consider Vauxhall [General Motors or Holden in Oz] to be the closest competitor.

Vauxhall it used to be, but tbh i wouldnt say there is "one" major competitor any more as the market is so fierce on any model..

Vauxhall have a big following here. You sell them as Holden. Mind you thanks to you guys we now get the Monaro over here

Subaru and Mitsubishi have a big following also. Our car scene is pretty diversified and we have all sorts as I'm sure you do.

i was goin to say vauxhall, but to be honest these days theres a much bigger trend of people choosing to get a car on finance and so are choosing more expensive cars like bmw and just paying them like a 2nd house mortgage lol

due to petrol prices in oz (about $1.15litre now which is still alot cheaper than uk i suspect) people are buying alot more smaller cars (corrollas, astras, hyundais). fords falcon has now been kicked out of the top 2 spot after 20+ years.its now about 5 in new car sales.trouble with the small cars is that unlike uk, over here they are basiclly A2B cars that no one cares about therefor theres virtually no aftermarket specialists for these
