Default Paypal advice please

If I have agreed to buy something from the interweb and the seller wants payment by paypal am I protected incase he tries to screw me

Is this the safest way to buy from the web ? Could I get my money back if needed ?

yeah say you were selling something, i wanted to buy it if i pay via paypal am i protected ?

kev its abit of a mine field even if you are protected and he fucks you over if he has withdrawn the money they won't get it back for you, and they sometimes might compensate abit of it for you. You can look at his rating somehow which tells you how many transactions hes had with reputable people.

Paypal always seems geared to the buyer not the seller..if you don't get your goods..the onus is on them to prove it's been sent, etc. I've had a few refunds from paypal very easily for stuff from ebay that I didn't get/wasn't as described.

If you use Paypal make sure that you fund the transcation with a credit card. That way if anything goes wrong you will be able to get your credit card company to refund you rather than Paypal. Paypal hate you funding transactions with a credit card as it is much easier to recharge with them.
