Thankfully no-one has been killed according to reports
The last serious incident was in Tebay aswell - not too long ago - a freight truck rolled for about 6 miles and struck a gang of plate layers killing 4 of them

just clicked on that link (already seen it on yahoo news) an it says one dead in the headline
scary thing is, i sometimes get on that train to come home. go all the way from euston to crewe. so if i had wanted i could have been on that train an got off before it crashed thats a scary thought.
hope everyone else will be ok, does seem VERY serious!
also just realised my mate is at uni in penrith an thats next to that line!!!

Tim - there are rules and regulations in place for these types of incidents - the rulebook which ANYONE who works on the railway MUST adhere to is basically a book of accidents. It would not surprise me if in the next update in June 2007 there is an ammendment to a rule that is a direct influence on last nights events.

They was saying how well the train stod up to the impact. Also thinking its a dodgy point int he track, and this trck was worked on last week
Dont mean to offend anyone here, but the people who work on the tracks seem to be the most lasy people going. I have meet and seen a few more and they are always sciving and seems to be doing half a job when they was there
