Default Bit of engine porn

Whilst on a course today at Nicholson Mclaren Engines I took a quick look at some engines they had on one of their 4 dynos !

I didn't get much info on it except its a old F1 3litre Engine, just made around 500hp on the dyno, 50k to build and 12k for a rebuild







Next on the dyno was this mad bit of kit, V6 Nissan twin turbo, 1000hp !

I had no idea exactly what they did down there Some tasty tooling for making or measuring anything you want

looks like an old DFV they make a great noise i've seen them in variations with 3.5litres and 4.0litres

Yep its a DFV, I remember the guy telling me now.

Was it a 70's engine or is it more modern than that ?

1967 to 1982 in f1 cars but Nicholson Mclaren are THE boys for the Dfv's in sports car variants , fookin expensive !

Tony, aren't these the guys that build some of the top-flight hillclimb engines, too?
