Has anybody on here had one or know of anyone who's had one?
My father was getting bad chest pains the other night so i took him into A&E & after doing a few tests they admitted him in.
Today we've been told that he need's a heart by-pass operation
The consultants are going to have a proper chat with us tomorrow about it.
My mother's been really ill & has only just come out of hospital after being in for a while
Life sucks so much at the moment

I work with 2 people who have had; quad at age 62 and triple at age 42 by-passes.
They both said they didn't realise how bad they had been till they felt the improvement afterwards.
They both had very quick diagnosis and ops.
Both on daily tablets, but generally in good health.
They couldn't do heavy lifting for 6 months, gets a bit messy when your chest opens up apparently..
Good that it was spotted in time in your father.

Hi AJ,
My Grandad had a triple bypass last Wednesday as he was having bad pains in his chest. He is still in hospital and it is amazing how good the doctors and nurses are. Like you i was petrified on what was going to happen but the consultants will tell you all there is you need to know.
The operation is a very common nowadays they do around 2-3 a day. And as the consultants will tell you when your at the hospital when your father has it done he will feel a new man
Also looking at all the other posts, you have a lot of support and people who will listen to you if you need to chat at anytime. Good luck to your father as i know he'll be absolutely fine
