Hi, im looking for some help in reseting my service interval meter. Ive got the reset sequence from autodata but this dont work.

its a 2002 3 series without the lights, just a mileage indicator, there is no multiplug under the bonnet either.

HELP! im already -1865 miles but the service has been done!

I think you will find its all done through the OBD connector inside the car.
If so, you will need a special peice of equipment to reset it.

according to autodate, its by a combination of ignition and the dash button, i get all the reset flashing etc however it fails to reset it.

Then i hate to say it, but autodate whoever they are must be wrong mate

i have the codes
really easy to reset a lot of things including service function on all e46 models
it worked on my wifes touring no problemo saved me a pakcet anyhow as my mate works in a merc dealership and he serviced it but had no tool for reseting

its a word document i paid a tenner for the info

BMW E46 99 on - Hidden Menu and Service reset Method

To reset the Service indicator:
-The car should be off
-hold down the left instrument button (the trip odometer reset)
-while holding the key, turn the ignition to position 1 (radio)
-you will see a test menu
-keep holding the button
-after maybe 10 seconds, the word "reset" will appear
-let go of the button and press again
-The indicator is reset!


Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:
1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following function s

What version of autodata were you using?
the 2004 cracked version that everyone's got has many mistakes in the 'service interval' section
3.16 (2006)) has a lot of corrections in it
