Bang goes that idea then. Not sure if i could get used to a left hand drive, and as rhd's are only conversions then i bet its hard to find a good one.

Cheers.

as above yes. the converted cars were never as good because the used parts from various models and they never drove as well. to me a right hand drive one is a ruined one left hand drive is easy to get used to nd it actually helps towards making the car feel special.

It's the one thing that puts me off them - I have driven a couple of left hookers, and I just don't like them

Left hooking is fun, sometimes and advantage as well.
Try the passenger on the mobile trick and watch the plod give you looks, till they spot the steering wheel.

Mine was a right hander and it was fine. LHD doesn't take long to get use to. Great fun cars if they haven't rotted away!

A place where i worked was going to be a restoration on one just after I left, the owner claimed it was converted to right hand drive from the factory, not sure if that true.

Was a proper peice of kit though, down fall was the price and avalibilty of spare parts for them

Now that looks awesome!!!!

Quite a few other people have said you do get used to lhd quite easily actually.

Just depends whether or not about Ł8k will get me a nice one. Dont really want to spend anymore than that. Im pretty sure i wont get a mint 16v for this money, but id be happy with a near mint or at the very least an excellent example. Does this sound possible to anyone in the know?

Cheers.

i paid 11k for mine it needed a clean on it but be very carefull that the ones you look at have not been played with beause the gearboxes are like chocolate plus stay away from ones that have been repainted this could be to hide many sines like the back of the roof that rots plus around the front window plus the the cracking of the shells . im not trying to put you off but you will pay good money for a very clean standard car and they are good fun i would say there about has quick as a standard cozzy but very ŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁ to tune over 250 bhp plus very pricey to repair i done all work on mine myself and you need hands of a 2year old its engine out to do things like the clutch even the steering rack

if you want to be REALLY different, you want one of these...

IMHO the best looking saloon car ever...

Alfa 155 Q4

still LHD, only about 15 in UK (IIRC) and it's mostly integrale bits underneath.

this one belongs to Fat Jaques, and i love it!
