The search is extremely heavy on teh server and as a result it was limited after pet surveyed what was often searched for. As an example, people regularly searched for... wait for it...

"LOL"

I mean, FFS, whats teh point? Yet we have literally HUNDREDS of people searching a 1.1gig text only database at once, and its compiling lists of topics for them with "LOL" and another common one, "Turbo" in it. This was creating huge load problems at times, so Pet limited it so people with common sense could still find what was required, and pointless words came up with a blank.

Be honest, what did you expect searching for "Ford" to achieve?

Also, dont foget to try teh google search.

If people werent so daft, we wouldnt have to bin most simple oen word searches, but sadly, they are.

I will ask Pet to remind me what the MOST COMMON searches were.

I know that "LOL" "PMSL" and "Turbo" were in there though...

Stu, The google search works really well, perhaps the PHP search should
be disabled forever and freeing up resources to keep it all speedy on here.

I dont know how often google updates it search reference tables though ???

Its amazing how intense a database search can be when 200people are using it at once. The PF databas is currently at 1.1gig and is text only of course, so pretty damn huge.

There will be a LOT of "lol"s in there...

personally, i would have either searched for:

1) Engine experts.

OR

2) lambda (In the Search keyword box)
by
Fil (Put this bit in username search)

You will find both those return your search perfectly.

Failing that, go to teh index page:
https://passionford.com/forum/index.php

And top right, click on:
View your posts.

A similar search si available in your own profile too.
