Default anyone had a 24hr PH monitoring test done?

as title

ive just come back from hospital and have to have this tube up my nose and into my gullet

it measures acid reflux

what i want to know is if anyone has had it done before di you find there was a lot of discomfort? As im having loads and its really painfull but only where it bends round inside my nose

im not looking forward to trying to get to sleep as you can feell the tube at the back of your throat and everytime you swallow

like a big lump really wierd feeling

just want to know of any tips if anyone has had it
i.e best sleeping postion etc as when you move the tube moves with you nad sometimes can be worse depending on what position your in

but any one who is going to have the test just to let you know its not the most pleasent of things

wish it was for an hr 24hrs is a long time to be feeling like this

jammy86

hello mate

i have a hiatus hernia, its where the gullet muscle that stops your food coming back up is soft or doesnt work properly, with this my stomach has moved above the gullet mousle allowing my acid to come back up

so basically i suffer with constant heartburn and sharp pains as the acid isnt being held in the stomach no more

ive had all tests done, like barium meals, cameras etc, and this was the last one

i had to tests done similar type with tubes down your nose etc

one was a pressure test , takes around 15 mins and you have to swallow, to measure the pressure of your gullet,

then the ph which is a sensor just above your gullet and measures how much acid reflux i suffer with, as i produce too much acid anyhow its a lot worse, so on major ant antacid tablets

but its out now and feel so much better now i can swallow food again

Ooo, sounds nasty. Hope its getting more bearable. Acid reflux is horrible, and constant heartburn is nightmare. The worst has to be the firey burps though :S

All the best with it.
