Loads of good places if you want to get glassed or stabbed round here lol
Nah, anywhere down the Bigg Market is okay for a cheesy nostalgic drunken night out, Quayside is a lot quieter these days due to the Gate (top of the Bigg Market) being the main attraction these days.
I'd split up if I were you though, there's no way you'll all get in together at any of the trendy bars! We have a stupid 'dress code' here too, shoes are a MUST or you'll not get in period. Personally I'd just go to Wetherspoons next to the train station and get tanked up cheap

Usually you have to wear trousers and shit, it's crap.
When I lived in Glasgow I loved it the way you could go out in trainers and jeans and generally got in anywhere

Revoloution wouldn't let me in, the Apartment is shite, smug dump selling over priced beer to call centre workers who think they're at a fashion show.
I'd stick with the cheaper places

is there anyone on here that goes out in newcatsle most weekends?
we dont really fancy going to places liks wetherspoons as when u have been in one u have been in them all, cheap drink doesnt really make up for a crap atmosphere!
we aint no posers either, (well apart from Jam!) so we need a list of middle of the road places, trensy but no overstrict door policies etc. and also which clubs are good also??
i find it strange that u have to wear dressy shoes to get into pubs???
cheers folks!

Gate is a good place to start,or if ya going out on Saturday then go to Blue Velvet(Strip Club),£5 per dance on Match Days
![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
The other option is the Big Market

I mean which big town centre doesnt have the odd skirmish FFS

Believe me the Bigg Market and Gate are the main reason Newcastle is the 6th best place in the world to go out on the drink end of.
If you wanna make the most of tomorrow night mate then yeah nip down the quayside for an hour, its only 5 mins away from the Biggy but make it so you spend most of your night in the Bigg Market.
Like Helen said Collingwood St are good but Im bearing in mind that your a group of lads so Bigg Market is the place to be

I'm too old and too tired to go round the Bigg Market and stuff these days. A place with a window seat and a jug of beer, paper, packet of tabs (another thing you Scots will like, a nice smoke with your pint lol) and I'm sorted.

Here's a list of the bars where I would normally go to.....
The Apartment, At Home, The Attic, The Living Rooms, Hoko 10 (down Dean Street) Bar 38, Chase, The Quilted Camel, Julies then onto Sea.
If you want to start down the quayside you could go to The Pitcher and Piano which is right next to the millenium bridge, then you could go Flynns, then on to the Slug and Lettuce, Bar 38, Chase, etc etc as above.
If you want to start at the other side of the quayside you could go to Lloyds Bar and work your way back the other way, all of the bars are really close to eachother and you can generally see where the crowds are as there will be ques outside.
Other bars down the quayside are, The Red House, Marthas, The Aitkinside, Buffalo's on the other side of the swing bridge, and just opposite that is Bajas.
I haven't been clubbing for ages but I prefer somewhere like Sea

Have to agree with Claire. Everytime I go home they are the bars I tend to go to. Round the Central Station is pretty good and it means at the end of the night your not too far away from some decent takeaways in the Bigg Market.
Looking forward to going up in a few weeks.
