Smaller battery?

Some of the really cheap shit batteries are much lighter than a decent one.

If its just a track car, then it doesn't have to be brilliant, does it?

As mentioned elsewhere, wiring is heavy, so chop out anything thats redundant, maybe go the shortest route for the vital stuff.

How about making an exhaust that comes out the front of one of your fog lights? Not sure if it's possible or legal but it would be small and have hardly any weight i think. Anyone think this is a good idea?

It'll be a bit of a pain benni, manifold runs from the back of the engine, so it'd have to come all the way under the engine, and then probably get scratched!

Thing is, it'll probably be hard to keep it quiet too, for noise limits on track.

Remember Ben, Fiesta's are for less fortunate people and they don't come with basic luxuries...

Only kidding Dan, your car is far from Stoke on Trent
What does Stoke on Trent have to do with Dan's car? I'm confused.

Mine was pov spec though, but I reckon mine knew what kind of life it was heading for.... Hence why the previous owner didn't get any extras.

As already been said mate depends how far you want to go. Also have to think if you want to sell the car on in future, and its got holes drilled all over then going to be harder to sell.

How far is your drive to work?

Plastic windows are a good idea but if you have a sliding front section then its easy for someone to break in. I like Dans idea of just doing the back window and quarters tbh. I would loose door cards and replace with a sheet of thin ally, bin standard seats and bolt passenger one directly to the floor.

If its got a sun roof i would remove that and just have a blanking pannel put in. You wouldnt belive how much weight is in a sun roof.

Unsprung weigh is where you will notice it more though. Alloy lower arms, Alloys bakes, and Light wheels.

As for everyone saying about loose some weight, they do have a point but its not the be all and end all. I am defo not a small chap and when i go, go-karting with mates who weigh 6stone less i still manage to show them a clean pair of heels.

Opens your eyes up a bit about how much can actually be lost. Sunroof I don't have which is good, standard seats have gone..

Only thing that really remains, is the dash, and front doorcards. I think I'll start making sometihng up for the front doorcards, only worry is... My two front speakers, I want a little bit of comfort tbh, and the speakers are my comfort! lol

I think lightweight alloys, and some alloy brakes will be next then.
