My mk2 shell has just been dipped, the guy doing the shell uses someone around your area so I'll ask who it is.
Seen some shells he has had done before and its quite unreal how clean they get the shells

Dipping is Ł500 for just the dip, add another Ł500+ for protection. Remember the dip will shift any dodgy bits quick like and the shell has to be perfectly prepared before it's dipped or you'll end up with holes all over the place. This one still isn't ready after hours of grinding + welding.

I had mine blasted - like you say, the main panels can't be done as it will distort them, but the biggest problem has been getting all the grit out of the sills and other hard-to-reach places.
Leaving it in isn't an option because it will just be a moisture trap.

That Mark 2 Escort wasn't MYS 351P was it?
I built that car way back in 1982/3 with the Zakspeed arches, but couldn't afford wheels and tyres fat enough to fill the arches!
Then put a piston through the block and sold it to a guy from Ayrshire.
