Property Areas - i.e. Up & Coming Areas....
After what seems like an eternity 'The future is looking bright'
Are there any websites or ways that i can investigate areas that are up & coming and not the dives they look like on the outside?
Been looking at houses in Swanscombe and surrounding areas in Kent, now its 5 mins from Bluewater, the A2/M2/M25 etc.... but its also 5 min from Ebbsfleet which is soon to be one of the EuroStar stations, which will mean a 25 min or so trip direct into St Pancras in London. Also with the South-East having properties being built here, there and everywhere and the Thames Gateway Regeneration going on, the whole area is IMO going to be a bit of a gold mine for the cheaper end of the housing market and the investment possibilites.
It looks like the area is slowly coming out the 20th century
This is will be my second place after i've sold the maisonette i'm in right now, Benn will be my mortgage partner
Any advice and or pointers will be greatfully recivied

However according to a recent report, the East London housing market has not been greatly affected since the announcement of the Games.
I don't think there is much to get excited about in the way of houses now. We've had nearly a decade of rising house prices, and the days of cheap money are behind us for a couple of years now.
The new development will be an opportunity for the major developers to build houses and take advantage of the new infrastructure, but I can't see any great opportunities for anyone else, wanting a secondary income, unless that is, they have large reserves and therefore only require a 50% mortgage.
But yes, it's interesting development around this area Hopefully some green land will be retained somewhere...
