Default Human kindness at its best...FOOKING Ducati's

Went out yesterday down to Dungeness...got there and my fooking chain snapped overtaking a car pulled over to the grass verge...put it on the stand and it fell off it luckily it was grass and did no damage! I couldnt pick it up A van driver screeched to a stop thinking i'd stacked it,but he helped me up with it

So i was waiting for recovery..for like 2 1/2 hrs ..nice day though!!!

But what got me was out of 8 bikers that passed all 8 stopped to see if they could help out when i say help i mean like do anything to get me home.

Even several car drivers stopped to see if i needed anything I am stunned at the care of people seeing a biker in the middle of nowhere. It really has put my faith in humans again...thanks alot annonomous people

Yea, should have warned you about Ducati side stands

They the biggest pile of sh*te ever

I swear it's just a ploy by the factory to sell more panels

Bikers are damn friendly tho

I'd alway stop and help

By the way......... how did the chain snap ??? was it faulty ??? did you check the tension before you went, as it must have been bloody tight and you should have noticed that the rear supension wasn't doing very much as the chain was probably like a bow string

The chain was fine (i thought)..i'd just lubed it.......the recovery bloke said it was just old and they can snap especially with the torque a 916 has.

Well for starters you aint lifting 205kg as you aint picking it up off the ground completely, just tilting it. I am an ex-biker BTW IMA, I know what I'm talking about I have picked up that size of bike before & it aint that difficult. I suggest you get yourself to the gym mate or get a smaller bike. Imagine if you got stranded out in the middle of nowhere just because you couldn't pick up your own bike

Didn't know you've got a bike Stu What you got? It is true about the commaradery amongst (most) bikers & I do miss it (& the adrenalin rush of course )

I dont have a bike Ian, but i regularly ride out as a passenger with good friends who have Bikes. Most regularly a heavily modded and de geared 99 Blade.

Every summer i say.. "Think il get us a bike this year".. and the dry sunny days never come, so i never bother.

Phil,

my cossie broke down last night Loads of people stopped to ask if I needed help, a fellow cossie owner even turned round for a chat and help pass the time while I was waiting.

No one in a scooby or evo stopped though

That's probably my fault for shouting BOOOOOO every time I see one drive past and if one's broken down I cheer.

Don't get to see that too often though lol.

Ah right, that explains it then Know what you mean about the weather but everytime it is nice like today I get a serious urge to get another Maybe I'll get one just as a trackday tool one day so then if I come off it's own my fault rather than a car driver's plus there aren't any dry stone walls or tree's to hit!

best ive seen was standing in my mates livingroom wacthing a couple of mates ride in to the parking space in front of LRoom window quite fast. one stops well. other stops not to good puts his foot down and then proceedes to fall over againts the otherbike so the end up in a pile with me and me mate in tears of laughter

luckily didn,t cost anything to fix either bike the legs and arms stoped the damage

I know Dungeness very well! Its not really the sort of place you wanna break down! (Just you, a barren landscape and a nuclear power station!)

Was fun trying to break into the runway at Lydd airport though!
