Default 2.0 zetec transplant, how much would i be looking at?

as title folks, am i right in thinking that its pretty much a straight swap without having to change much? and is a focus unit better or a mondeo or are they both exactly the same?

Cheers

EDIT when i say how much i mean for the engine and to have it fitted by someone

engine price will vary for age and miles etc.

focus black top wont fit, need a sliver top from a mondeo etc.

i fitted and engine and charged £250 as i had to use some of my own parts on it, as have of the shit on the other guys engine i had to swap was rusted to fook, ie rounded manifold bolts etc, p/s pump was fucked etc

you need to swap flywheels over, change the water pump for an escort one, so timing needs to be done so may as well buy a new belt and tensioner kit...

all in your prolly looking at about £800+

you need to change sumps and oil pickups as the 2l sump is too deep

but duno if this is just for the mk4 conversion not to sure

alternator brackets etc you need off yours as the mondeo alternator is at the back

water pump as mentioned

it can be done but also depends on teh condition of the otehr engine you get

duno about inlet,injectors or ecu

may get away with your 1.8 stuff

oh ah, forgot about sump and pick = this needs swapping too

if you buy a GOOD engine and yours is in decent nick, i can do the swap if you buy all the bits.

I wouldnt even attempt it, as i said i go to ford for a service, i think that says it all??
I dont have the tools or anything to get the car off the ground apart from a shitty ford jack in the boot

Ill get saving the pennies and get it done by someone who knows exactly what there doing and wont encounter any problems that way.
