no they give u a rubber ring for the thermostat not the one were the housing bolts onto the head

if it is rubber you may get away with using the old one.
at a last resort give it a clean in some warm soapy water and see how it looks.

my mate said just use rtb sealent instead they reckon it would work

Ordered one of these from my local ford dealer,its sat there waiting for me to collect on Saturday, along with the gasket that seperates the 2 housings and the fat hose to pump and small hose too. They DO still do them

ford told me they cant get them

Try asking for one for a large turbo Escort Cossie - I did this and they stocked it! Asked for a Saph 4x4 and they didn't have it! Two finis codes possibly, but actually one and the same thing.

just colected it
finis code 6608196

its fuckin wrong

firstly it aint the flat type of o`ring
secondly its too big

The 2wd and 4wd are different. The 4wd has 1 O ring to seal the housing to teh head and one rubber gasket that teh stat sits INSIDE to seal the cover.

Do NOT use Gasket glue, or ever take that chaps advice again.

For future reference, when you buy a 4wd stat from me it comes with the sealing ring.

the engine is all together now again and im going to flush the rad out in a min then start it!

whats the best way to do

just fill the water bottle up to top then run the car with cap on or off?

6608196 is the correct part number thermostat houseing to head seal 4x4 cosworth the seal is not a flat type either it goes like that over the years with the heat etc...

should be a round type o ring seal approx 50mm in size.

Any bigger than you may have the wrong part in the bag but correct part number

And bin that thermostat housing , it'll never seal water inside the hose properly !!

car is all back together now and running spot on again still no heating.
just going to take it to someone whos better on cossies than me lol
