I'm looking at buying an engine that is said to have one fitted but doesnt have documentation. Apparently you can see the gasket and identify it as a 4 layer? Is this correct? Oh the engine is complete at the mo obviously!
Its a gasket that has crushed bits when you use it, the crushed bits make a seal and you can't re crush em....... reuse it ? no idea LOL but sounds dodgey

Sorry i thought there was a gasket you could reuse but my lack of clue is showing through
Depends, If it's the genuine WRC mulit layered gasket then it should be reuseable, but maybe it's just a cheap copy? What kind of engine is it that it would require one anyway??? And are you going to rip the head off it???? Is your engine buggered then??? Mine's in bits at the moment.
When you get the engine remove the ex manifold then get a junior hacksaw and where the gasket is rivited together cut this little piece off then drill the rivit and count the layers
