What should i go for?

Im playstation through and through to be honest, but i aint heard many bad reviews on the 360...

However i really fancy a PS3, but the pricetag of £450ish is a bit wild, aswell as a rumoured 50 nicker a game, kinda puts me off... So should i go for a 360 tomorrow, or put a deposit on a ps3 instead?

its £280 with Hard drive, n u can get them with games now for that price if you shop around

xbox360 just for Gears Of War and Halo 3. oh and Xbox Live, i can't seeing the PS3 version of "live" being able to compete.

 

the ps2 was better than the xbox
but now the 360 has blown the ps2 off the shelf
it does run hot though which is the only major concern

I'm a Playstation man through and through.... but the original XBOX was awesome and was worth the money just for Halo... what a game.

if your worried bout your 360 overheating get a intercooler for it

no it wasnt, it had some good games but the xbox had a Hard Drive, Xbox Live and far far better graphics ....i know i had both

ive had my 360 since the day they came out, and i have no complaints what so ever, even though im now on my 4th because they keep over heating. as far as the ps3 goes, ive never played on one so cant comment, but one thing i will comment on is the price, its day light robbery. and ive been reading that sony arnt giving the uk the choice of 20 gig or 60 gig hard drive, its either 60 gig or nothing. and at £425 for just the console, i think ill be giving it a miss.

 

If you can ever get a race on XBox live then its great Lee

 

Love the way the Xbox can play DivX from your PC too over the network.

Sony took too long, it's too expensive and not that much better in the real world imo

 

The price difference is almost negligi8ble once you add a HD DVD drive to the XBOX 360 cost.

£450 sounds expensive for a 'games console' but when you factor in the Blu-Ray capability is it really that expensive?

People said the same thing about the PS2 being too expensive when that first came out, but again, factor in the built in DVD capability, it wasn't really so dear.....

Obviously Microsoft have beaten Sony to the punch, and built up a loyal fan base already, but only time will tell.....

 

I was a PS2 fan through and through and deceided to buy a 360, never played the PS2 again after i had bought the Xbox !!

The 360 is superb and cant really see the PS3 being that much better.

Halo 3 for the 360 looks amazing and Call of Duty 3 is supremely addictive online !!!

Gears of War is deffo worth buying as well. So is Rainbow Six Vegas.

 

i wanted a ps3 but to me sony missed the boat. I wasent gonna buy one of e bay for 1k, so bought the 360. not gonna buy a ps3 as well..

what is better with the ps3 than the 360???

 

until just after xmas i would have said ps all day long but i had some vouchers to spend and the only thing in the shop i fancied was a 360 (just for the sake of spending it )


i wont bother with a ps3 for a couple of years now.....the 360 does the job nicely

Had a PS2 for years, sold it.

Also got a wii, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, neither of which have been touched since the 360 arrived home.

HD gaming is awsome, free demo and download content is equally as awsome but xbox live is a must. Gears of war and test drive unlimited all day long for me, i even bought a HDTV for the bedroom to get the most out of it!

too much hype, for not very much.....

graphics are better than ps2 as youd expect, but they not THAT great.....

i was a ps man since the begining, but PGR 3 GOW etc swayed me, and at £291.99 delivered i got the premium entertainment pack from dabs...

thats 2 wifi controllers PGR3 arcade unplugged pack, hdd headset etc, its very good and the ps3 is just too late IMO

They are games consoles, not many give a shite about Blue ray or HD DVD and lets face it the quality of either is not that much better than a decent upscaling DVD player.

All these Xbox overheating problems, well having had one from December 2005 I have never had a fault and it gets a lot of use. Look at the Photo somebpdy posted of the Xbox sitting on top of a SKY+ box. I know my SKY boxes generate heat so could that be a contributing factor?

If you want purely a game console buy the Xbox 360 as it does everything the PS3 can. Dont forget the Xbox 360 will soon be playing online against PC players that have windows vista.

 

watch the tennis elbow mate... gets very painful. i got i t chronically from the gym and ended up with a load of steroid injections into my tendon. not nice at all. wii injuries so far just from my department at work are smashed elbow, sprained knee, and a a done in back from the bowling.. and that's without really trying even.

as for the consoles, since i got my wii, the 360 just became an expensive dvd player. not sure on the ps3 yet.

 

Xbox 360 for me as well.

Sony showed in November last year that they don't give two shits about the European market, and lets be honest, BOTH previous Playstations have had teething problems on release.

But what really did it for me was finding out that GTA 4 will be released on the Xbox 360 on the same day as the PS3 version

 

i can't see myself shelling out on a ps3 unles there was something that was SO great everyone was raving about it and i couldn't get enough of it, i got the ps2 because it was only5 weeks old, £140 and had 10 games with it as well as remote, 2 controlers, memory cards etc etc

if someone came up to me and said "do you want to buy my month old ps3 because i've got bored of it" for the same sort of price when it's got the best part of £500 worth of bits with it, i'd say "yes please "but otherwise no, i won't be going ot the shops and getting one unitl they come down in price to less than a 1er

I had both and the ps2 got punted once i got bored of gran turismo (the reason i bought it)

I might very well buy the ps3 for the very same reason (GTHD) and well to check it out.

However, the 360 has absolutely blown me away. The graphics on recent titles (COD3 & GOW) have been out fo this world.

Its live system aint free but its simplicity is a joy to use. The ps3 system will work differently. You will have to register an account for each developer whick will make things very tedious and your freinds list will probably not interact between them.

Developers are currently struggling with the ps3's complex programming and its likely we wont see its full potential for a good few years.

Sony do have a feircly loyal following and i get the impression that a lot of them dissing the 360 have never really even tried to appreciate it. Its an awsome bit of kit that offer so much over gaming. Streaming from pc, marketplace, voice channels, upscaling dvd's

people should just appreciate that they are both good consoles.

I do get the impression the ps3 will be riddled with 'bug's and no where near as user freindly as the 360.

The choice of buying a console right this minute. 360. As per above !!
