Default Can a NA car give off black smoke from a blowing exaust?

Im going to see a honda civic today which is for sale and it seems good but the guy said to me it smokes because of a blowing exaust is this possible, oh the car is a 1.5 esi and has done 130000 miles

No. Sounds like the pistong rings are worn and youre getting oil past them into the cylinder, which then gets burnt and goes down the exhaust as the blue smoke you see.

my mates got a esi but his is a 1.6? thought the lsi was a 1.5?
