WELL....my AMG E55 is a 1999 and on close inspection i noticed corrosion comming from the inside out on some panels ....well i took it back to Merc and said i aint happy..they looked took photos and i waited 4 weeks....then i got conformation and a booking in time to have it done under warranty...beleive it or not its having new wings and a FULL respray to bare metal even though you had to look up very close to notice it..i reckon its about a 8k job seriously .....Its in there now been there 3 weeks so far ...ready on the 9th Feb...but it will come out like a brand new car!!!!!


to the merc 9 yr corrosion warranty...although you shouldnt have to use it...apparently dodgy paint in the CLK and E Class from 96 to 2000

 

thats what you get for buying cheap mercs!

 

maybe i'll get one of those then.. and a rusty one at that!

Ive noticed a few little speckles myself on the front wings on my e-class which is a 2000 and its highly annoying

 

Deano take it down to mercedes you have a 9 year corrosion warranty and aslong as it aint been resprayed before (they do a paint depth check) and the corrosion is inside to out..in 3-4 weeks you will get it done

 

Does that mean your getting the little Citreon as the Courtsey car again

Its shame as it looks lovely when clean in bright silver with the aero 2 split rims on , dont get me wrong youd need a proper keen eye to spot it but if i can get that sorted before it gets any worse for free then

But niggly things like that with it fuck me off no end , plus the shitty interior vents keep breaking away

 

my mate took his e class taxi in and they did the same, bare metal respray, new wings bonnet and boot lid great build quality

 

BMW would do the same

Their was some corossion on the lacker of the wheels on my dads 52 plate 5 series, they replaced them with brand new wheels FOC and a few other niggly problems over the years with various beemers hes had.


Just think tho, they wouldnt have to do it if they made them right the first time round

Nowt Special, Even here at Renault we offer 12 year anti corrosion warranty on cars from new and thats a French car

Mercedes have come bottom in customer services rating for the past 3 years because of the severly poor service given in dealerships!!!! i should know i recruit for DCUK and the staff tuirnover is the highest in the motor trade as no one stays

 

Told you they rust!!!! Thats why only get one with Full Merc History as they will cover it under warrenty.......

 

Its a 30 year warrenty, the car is supposed to have a full service history, serviced at least once a year by mercedes, not all dealers check for it though

Tommo you are correct as my clk was 10 years old and someone mentioned 30 years but the normal warranty is 9 years and my amg is covered by that.......


...i can tell you merc are highly embarrassed and wont turn i claim down in fear of bad publicity...but they dont advertise this service!!

That surprises me Phil, as when i was thinking of getting a E class Derv they said it had to make sure it had full MBSH so when it starts to rust they would sort it out at the factory. But they have turned them away without etc....

And they will turn people away, been seen loads of times. Just sound like you got good local dealer

I nearly put a bid in on a E220CDI today but resisted Will have to see how it goes...

 

...the reason people get turned away is because its not inside to out rust more like its had a bodged respray or accident repair...they wont turn any genuine cases away,maybe our dealer is fully aware of this and others aint?...Push if its genuine you will be covered..particualary around the boot lock on the clk and e class it was a design fault.

 

e320 cdi is the one to go for rhys!

i think from 2002 all fords come with a 10year corrosion warranty? but you have to have the ford body and paint check at every service.

 

James i dought i will get one as dont want to spend the money tbh Though there was a nice few down auction today coming of lease and some in the 60k mileage.... i wanted to see what they went through for but i had to go

If so what would price a 51 plate CDI E220 avandgarde at with 70k and FMBSH?

Does the avandgarde have leather as std? what would the std spec be?
