Default whats the advantage of using twin piston rings in a turbo?

i have heard about twin piston rings in turbo units being done, just wondering whats the advantage of having this done?

not quite sure what you mean mate as turbos dont have pistons! are you on about the engines?as im sure you dont add piston rings when you add a turbo,please expand on what you mean!

what????

i can only assume you are talking about Twin Piston Dump valves,these are supposed to be for Escort Rs Turbo's..in truth they don't work well at all......Fiesta RS turbo's use single piston or Diaphragm type.

turbo shaft seals are referred to as "piston ring seals" as that's what they look like - metal sprung ring with a small gap for expansion. I'd imagine they are suggesting maybe double ones to reduce the potential for oil escape from the core ?

the seals are sometimes used against oil leagage when an open exhaust is used on a car...
