Default How can you stop a cossie overfueling?

my cossie is overfueling, it puffs out a fair bit of black smoke on start up only, i replaced the spark plugs a max of 500miles ago, and just took em out tonite and they are black, at the moment since it started overfueling it has a bit of a starting prob, where it stutters and cuts out 2-3times then starts and runs no probs after that ( i thought i t was unrelated, but wondered if maybe its all related?), i got 220miles to a full tank
when it was serviced i had the fueling checked and all was ok, i am due to take it back to SCC to get some of the damage from the crash sorted, so i just wondered if there was a way to fix this so i can get i tdone when i take the car in

cheers for any help

Black smoke should be over fuelling, I would imagine valve stem problem would be blue smoke but I could be wrong.

Thanks

i may change this on my car soon, what job does it perform WRT the fuelling?

my car is running closed loop and when warm it sits at 0.5% Co so its all working, except it takes bloody ages to warm up and as i only use it for short journeys i still struggle to get it to do 200 miles on a tank

The entire fuel level is based on this output at all times.

A cossie should never take ages to warm up. Certainly no more than a mile or so. Change the thermostat and ENSURE its the right one...
