reason i ask im looking at buying a cossie 4x4 but he said its 93 but its has a red rocker cover and old style lattice wheels. as its got foreign plates so dont show year

If you check on the filler caps on the early 4x4s then you will see they were manufactured at the end of 1989, but didn't go on sale until Jan 1990 (getting a "G" plate, which is for cars registered rom August 1989 to July 1990).

Green tops were on all cat equipped cars, so from some point in 1991 onwards, when they became a legal requirement in this country.
