What does it do...it wont release it or it wont catch it...

When it doenst released it...there is a little knob on the catch..if its pushed...then the lid doesnt go up when pulling on the knob inside the car...

So you must open the lid with a key...

Dont know whats going on when it doenst stay closed..

I got in the boot and someone pulled it and I could see the catch was just missing the release trigger, we moved the torque bolts a bit and the boot then was just rattling about so we put that back

the lever to catch the latch to open boot on mine is on a slide mechanism and can move up and down(pull it back up so it meats the catch)!

ah right! then all you can do for temp get a cable tie or a bolt through the bottom hole to hold it up till you get a new mechanism as it must be worn

i took one apart just recently, if some of the plastic has lost it's springyness you wil have this problem
also there is a spring in the cable somewhere that might have gone astray
