i was just changing the rear springs on my 4x4 sapphire cosworth and when fitting the rear beam back on (just released it) the big rubber bush just popped out of place
now this has stopped me from finishing the rear end and im gutted i tryed everything to fit the bush back on but it just wont
really gutted and battered (hands cut to fook)
does anyone have any ideas on getting this damn bush back in ?????????????
all help much appriciated

then tomorrow ill be doing the front

Do you mean the big one that goes on the end of the beam, with the main mounting bolt passing through it, or one of the ones on the trailing arm?
If it is the beam, I think the technique is to lube it up and then use a trolley jack and the cars weight to pop it in, but I'd guess there must be something wrong for it to pop out in the first palce - they are pretty tight when fitted.

yep its the big bush on the beam when i was trying to line up the big bolt to the chassis i used a trolley jack to lift the beam up but i think i went a bit too much with the jack and the metal insert in the bush must have leant on the chassis too much and it poped out

lube it up but make sure the inside of the beam where it sits is smooth, you might be best off doing a bit of wet and dry on the insides before greasing it all up
if you jack the bush directing into the beam it shuold line everything up, and if it still doesn't go in with the wieght of teh car ontop of it, getting inside and sitting down sometimes does the trick
