After totally messing up installing and deleting POI's on my tomtom 700 i somehow managed to delete the maps (dont ask how)

And so after spending hours trying to sort it out ive now deleted the whole system (a moment of stupidity)

What is my next option now of getting it back to how it was when i first got the tomtom?

think you will need to rein stall it all....

I have loads of maps on dvd I can send you, but have you still got the soft ware etc on there? this IIRC can be downloaded off of the tom tom site.

I deleted everything off the 700's hard drive

When you start the tomtom now all that happens is that tomtom music comes on then a pic of the hands then a big red cross flashes up and thats it

 

have you tried pressing the reset button on the back???

What i did was I plugge the 700 into the pc clicked on my computer , went on "removable drive H" "select all" "delete"

Dont know why i did it , was a moment of madness when all else was failing

Just reload the copy you made when you first got it,

if you install the tomtom software on your laptop/pc off the cd you can restore it all from that, downloading maps from tomtom website etc

the same thing happened to mine try to install it back on and it would not have it took it to the shop .they found its got a hard drive problem its still in the shop
