i stopped using that when i clicked "search" (or whatever it says) and then stop the scan literally 5 seconds later and it comes up with the same results as it does if you leave it scanning for 15mins until it finishes

HiJackthis is also a decend progam, it examines all processes that are running and gives you an idea of whats what and if its dodgy or not.

Its not strictly a spyware cleaner, it just lets you know whts going on

 

strange as imm on my gfs pc now and spybot has just found 96 spyware programs...and imm the only one that does the porn surfing on it ..

Do u regularly update it? As with any program of this type, if u keep it updated with the latest detection databases it will work!

 

It always finds the same two entries, Alexa and VX2 (IIRC) - they are part of windows that it doesnt like, and will find them every time you scan. Windows puts 'em back on reboot. Theyre nothing to worry about. If thats the only two things its found it must mean your PC is clean.

I had this, turned out my databae definitions file was knackered. I just reinstalled it and ran another scan, been fine since.
