My brother has one. I think he paid Ł700 for his but his is standard and had lots of work done to it.

Engines are really strong and they're quick for what they are

Had a load of them over the years and used a 98 3 door 1.6 vti for a bit when i got back from travelling.

Great engines! Great cars! Great value for money!

[that sounds like a cheesey advert]

And as Nick said above the 1.8 estates are great for surprising people

Apparently the 1.6 is better than the 1.8 but that's only what I've been told

id second that

ive got a shot of my mates 98 plate 1.6 vti-s

Handles like a go kart

however, the variable valve timing is worse than turbo lag. over 4k before the thing comes to life so you really do have to 'wring its neck' to keep it going

id bet they would be a good track car because of that and they bullet proof.

its for sale if anyones interested

Everyone seems to FINALY realising how good these little hondas are. I would go as far as to say the B series vtec engines are probably the best mass productuon ever. 150bhp from 1.6 litres is good to start with then to make them mega reliable, i am driving about in my mates crx i-vt this week and its done 174k and still pulls like a train to 8500rpm
