Default paying in Cheques

Hi Guys,

I have been sent a cheque by an Australian customer of mine...

But its in Aus Dollars!!!

When I turn up at the bank tomorrow what are they going to say when I want to pay it in to my account?

should be fine might cost you a little in conversion i have done it in germany before and they accepted a cheque for GBP Ł

They'll have to whats known as 'negotiate' the cheque, which means it will have to be converted into AU$ at whatever rate. The cheque has to physically be sent to Oz for payment but your bank will probably let you draw the money out, but indemnify them if the cheque is returned for any reason.

the answer was:

A big long form and I get the money in a week or 3

all in all a right pain in the arse!
