Marvellous.....

I got my car back on the road in about July but it was in no fit state to have anyone do an agreed value summary on it (as HIC ask for) so it had to wait until I'd done all the spraying and got kit back on etc. So finally in december I got a valuer to sign and stamp the docs and sent them along with £15 to HIC recorded delivery.

HIC processed and dispatched my certificate along with ALL my large, valuable receipts (approx 2k's worth) in the NORMAL POST!

yep, you guessed it, on the 19th January I still aint got them. Finally rang them up and they 'definitely dispatched them'. Soooo, all those receipts I've spent years hoarding that prove the value of the car are now gone

Sooooooooo fookin pissed off. Am writing a letter of complaint but basically its fooked isnt it?! Next time i want to agree the value I'll struggle, and if i ever want to sell the car I've got no proof and only half the cars history (MOT's).

I was under the impression photocopies werent acceptable....

And I would expect valuable documents to be sent recorded delivery as any professional establishment would do.

 

I sent copies of my bills and they were fine with it and sent the certificate out. Can't blame HIC for Snail Mail fucking it up

 

Royal Mails fault..

Saying that mind if I ever need anything to get somewhere..always goes special delivery..if it's worth worrying about then it's worth £4 to send.

 

You should have photocopied them ... they should have sent them recorded. 6 of one ... half a dozen of the other I'm afraid.
