mercedes clk worth 21,000, 04 plate.......write off, guy got 16....

I'm with HIC and for my Supercharged VR6 @ 22 yrs old for this year its gonna only cost me £354............

I might try Carol nash just to see but they have incl Track day cover etc with HIC

Do Carol Nash offer Track day cover?

I think most insurance companies are the same nowadays coz of all the so called claims.....

katie,i can understand what you are saying about carol nash,BUT then you could say that about every other insurance company on the planet.
as regards to the bloke with the agreed value, well if he went over his allowed mileage why should they pay out.he didnt stick to his end of the deal so why should they?
thats why when ever i get insurance i ask and ask and then read and read all terms of the insurance policy to make sure it covers me for what i want.THEN there is no way they can get out of it if i need to make a claim.
i have an agreed value policy with them which costs me excatley £251 fully comp for my 3dr.and i have yet to find an insurance company that have been any where near as good as these are,and thats nothing to do with the price.ie you phone them they answer the phone and are very very helpful

lol@nick
Only there for summer,
i havent revealed any 'classified' information, eg the reg details, or claimants names.....im just stating a fact, as cheap as stuff like carol nash is.....you do get what you pay for....
for the extra 100 quid, I think the security of knowing youd actually get a grand or so nearer what the car is worth if it gets bent up on a road....is settling at the least.

lol, there wasnt an agreed mileage though popeye, thats the point.....
they just sed to him (after itd crashed, not before) that the bike had done 6,300....and a bike under 6k wud get 2,500 more.....
which is complete bollox....

kool....=)
im just saying to be general, all insurance companies will wana give u the lowest amount possible, period. but some will try and perform daylight robbery.....im just suggesting people take account of what the company would consider an adequate write off price for their vehicle, or you could be in for a nasty shock

I'm not a believer in there being ANY one benevolent insurance company.

They're all in it to make as much money as possible, by paying out as little as possible, so no horror story would surprise me.

I'm with HIC, and have been for 3 years - I'd like to think all would be good if I had to make a claim, but you never know do ya...........

Carole Nash are just the broker.

You are probably insured with AXA (The company I work for, albeit on the life/investment and pension side)

Both companies are strictly regulated by the Financial Services Agency and are members of the General Insurance standards Council.

If you accept the low offers an Insurance company makes then what do you expect.

However if you stick to your guns you will more often than not reach an amicable solution.

Thats why organasations like the GISC and FSA are there, to protect the consumer!

Of course insurance companies will try and take the piss, thats just business.

You simply have to know your rights!

Oh, and Carole Nash are very cheap, beat HIC by over £150 for me too
