ok,they are much better than standard brakes when used with the correct pads etc, they do fall short of some of the big name brands a little though

Spot on mate!!!!!

I had no probs with my 4 pots they worked extremely well, only downside to them is they dont have no dust sills round the pistons, and the fluid run through the bottom body of the caliper.
The only reasons I had to change them was I wanted bigger for when I use it on the track, they looked small behind the mos(had escort cos rims before)and Hispec wanted a STUPID amount for just bigger discs and brackets.about £120 less than what I could get my 6pot A.ps and £355 discs for(thanks Steve@ at A1)

When I ordered them they took 4weeks

Everything is priced seperatly, its all advertised at good prices then you realise its plus vat!

When I went to pick them up the braided lines werent done so had to wait around, They were still not really long enough!!

Then (this will sound petty)I asked for a sticker for my tool box,she had to ask the boss! HELLO IVE JUST HANDED OVER £1200.00 CASH!!!

Go for A.Ps!!!! ring A1 rally,Martin Hadland,Mike Rainbird all will sort you out a good deal!!And you will be more than happy with the service!!!!!! Wish I knew this a few years ago

Hope the Money is in the post boys???

No problems with the two sets I've had although I’ve never bought them from Hi-Spec personally.

Exceptionally good now-a-days and if you're worried about service, use a good main-dealer of them (me ).

punter, what size wheels you using?

you can get AP 4 pots from an MG TF that fit under 13"s

may need a bracket making but they are piss cheap!

get on ebay

Any CNC machined caliper will be on average 12 - 15% stronger than a Far Eastern drop forged item. That percentage can then be directly used to increase the pressure applied to the disc. All Hi Specs are CNC'd

Internally they are quite different JJ

The bore size of the hydraulics is just one area but there are plenty other differences across the ranges for both, some changes swing one way some swing the other

Interesting. I had a chat with the chap at Comp, and I was really impressed - seemed friendly, knew his trade, and made the right noises. I know Si is very pleased with his, and given that his mate Phil has AP, I would have thought he would have a good comparison.
