Default Had a trip to the DVLA today...

So they could check my car regarding the private plate

Was a women who was checking it, but a guy accompained her, got chattign to him, and he was saying that he used to work for Ford, and was well into his old cars, mainly RS's....

Apparently he had just retired from the job this woman was doing, but came along as he likes to have a nosey around any RS's that come in, then he went on to say he had another RS being registered this week....an RS200 (and went on to ask if id ever heard fo them as they were so rare lol)

Tried to get some info as to where it was beign registered so i could go have a nosey as its apperently been stored since new, but he was having none of it suprisingly pmsl

Makes ya think how many more RS's are sat out there that know one knows about hey!!!!

Trafford house right next to Man U grounds!!

They said car looks fine, all engine numbers are original numbers, vin plates are fine etc they said the car looks fine, and there shouldnt be any probs with it, just have to have a specialist check it over in this next week, just to make sure the missing floor numbers are nothing dodgy, but the DVLA said it all looks fine, and they know how easy Fords rot, so thats taken into consideration lol...they say they expect it on cars 17 years old lol hence why they requested to check it!!

Yeah i agree. I PERSONALLY would rather have one that is on a D/E, than say if they registered it now, it would be on a '56 plate. It wouldnt look right. And i dont think it would be worth as much as one that was registered and put away as its not REALLY original.

That makes 2 then - I have heard about one not a million miles away with 51 miles on from new.......only problem with 'your' one is would he now not be able to register it as cars registered after 1991 needed a catalytic convertor ? Or is it the date manufactured ?

Dont know how it works tbh.....But you could always just buy a D plate and put that on...

Put it this way though....I doubt it will ever get registered by him and he wont sell it....................EVER

He just likes his cars.....And he does have a few

Oh yeah, but if any car registered after 1991 'J' has to have a cat then he won't be allowed to register it, which kind of makes the car worthless......just a thought, that's all.
