Default How much difference!! (weight question)

I took out my bass box today from the evo (2 x 12" subs) & the car seems to be much quicker & alot more responsive on acceleration!!

I've weighed the bass box & it's 5 stone - would it really make that much difference or am i imagining it?

I think im gonna leave the box out now & take all the amp's etc out too

when i took all my ICE out of my focus, sub boxes, speakers, cabling, amp's and all the rest that goes with it weighed almost 9 stone

If you want a bit of bass, get one of those 10" vibe active boxes, loads on ebay, they are pretty loud, and weigh fuck all

I have to say, Gary has taken all the Hi-Fi, rear seats and carpets out of his Evo 7 and reckons it's faster, but I reckon it's just his imagination!!

It's fooking fast anyway.

Just the space saver, jack and wheel brace to ditch and its "Game On" for racing

Did you not recently change back to 17's aswell??? Possibly a contributing factor?

theres a formula to work it out or something with the weight reduction to power increase, well you no what i mean. 5 stone aint much mind, how much does a full tank of fuel weigh?

Something liike 5 stone would definatly be noticeable imo.
When i had my nova turbo it would stay with a cossie with a 150hp advantage. I went as far as having 2 seats only,no stereo, light weight door cards made a shitty car an interesting drive.

When I lost the 1st 50kg off my Gtir and also fitted smaller diammeter tyres, I ran 3/10th faster up the strip the next time out. So it does make a difference, you've lost over 30kg.

(I'm soon hoping to be 100kg lighter still)
