danny, there is basically a hole that goes into a high pressure oil feed, then then a smaller tapped hole to screw a screw in to hold them in place.

the jets themselves have a ball bearing in them to stop the oil returning back into the feed

Thats good info, anyone have a part No? The only problem I can see for what i need is the the modualr V8 hangs the piston skirt out alot complared to most engine designs! something to keep my brain ticking though.

pm DOO mate, he will sort you out.

my pistons slightly touched the jets, so i had to very slightly bend them round a bit more, they are not dead straight like i have drawn, the ends have a slight curve to them.

The late 4x4 cosworth pistons have a slight notch in the skirt to avoid contact with the jet - maybe the same could be done to the pistons in the other engines

Question is - can these zetec jets be retro fitted to a YB block that does not have jets fitted if the existing oilways were tapped into, as the cosworth ones are very pricey

yes i is not uncommon for them to get snap'd off on the zetec engines and end up laying about in the bottom of the sump.

that is why our pistons have been machined with a amall notch to clear them. reliability
