Default Quick Battery Help!!!

Right, battery light is on when driving! Volts guage is reading normal 14ish Volts, which implies all is well, even with lights on for a good 15mile drive no drop in volts so id assume this means the alternator is working fine? Yet the battery light is on....

All wires have just been removed clean and reconnected! belts fine and tight!

Wtf is wrong

There is one other thing you can check there is the big battery feed wire from the starter to the alternator and then the other little wire trace that little wire back for any breaks or touching the car as that wire will put the light on the dash on, worth a look cheeRS.

To make the bulb in the dash light up you need a positive and a negative feed.

The bulb in the dash has a positive feed on it from the ignition switch, when the alternator is not running it gets its earth feed via the little alternator wire mentioned above.

When the alternator is spinning and producing current the regulator pack sends positive volts up this wire so you have two positives at the bulb.

Thus 2 positives and no earth at the bulb makes it go out.

You are getting earth leakage up the wire to the bulb which means your alternator or regulator is not functioning correctly, and will need to be replaced.
