Default Slipper not slipping?

ive got a 4x4 diff on mine (lsd) but sometimes it only lights up one wheel

sometimes it works properly n they both go as they should, but other times its as if theres no LSD in there!

is this just the signof a worn/loose diff?

also will a 2wd diff be a straight swap for the 4x4 item, as i quite fancy having the larger (stronger?) diff

it will just be a tired old VC jim it will be needing an overhaul.

to fit a 2wd diff in your car you will need 2wd shafts beam and output shafts...prob not worth the expense for what your after..... i used to run a 330 bhp 2wd cos powered xr4x4 track car with a 4x4 diff with no probs

Jim, i`ll sell you a complete 2wd back axle (as it comes out of the car) for Ł200, calipers/handbrake cables etc.

Mine rear diff is fooked as well but finding a S/H which works correctly is proving a problem..

I could have bought a brand new one for 250, but Tiff from interford got it first

Its also the fact std LSDs are not very good, they dont have much lock at all compared to aftermarket ones so you will often only spin one wheel.

They limited slip diffs, not no slip diffs.

Change the oil and I think Ford have a special friction modifier that is supposed to be used whith all they're LSDs.
