Savings???
Hi, want to start saving some money.
I don't actually earn all that much but hate the feeling when you literally have no money to your name as you don't put some away.
Where would I go, or what do I buy? savings account, ISA? what bank, who, what, where and why really..
Cheers for any help.

Abbey do some good savings accounts,i have an easy ISA with them (you can put £3000 a year into it,but you can still take out money from it whenever you need to,although you can't replace what you've taken out)

I have a Tax Free ISA with Natwest. As bud-weis says about his...it's instant access, you can pay £3000 in april-april and I think I get 4.75% on it...which is Tax free.
Try having a look at the ISA's your own bank are offering. I have mine on my online banking with my current account and can put money in online via balance transfer. It just makes it that bit easier than farting around with a load of accounts. If it's hassle to put money in you'll be tempted to just spend it instead

Thinking about regular savings account as I have no idea about ISA's etc.
Barclays look good, but I'm with Abbey so might pop in and have a chat.
I want one where I CAN take money out if needs be, won't get charged etc. etc. etc but with a good intrest rate on it also.

Instant access...it's like a normal bank account...but they attached mine to my current account...so when I want to pay in I just hand over the card ''please put this in the ISA on the account''...and if I want money out...hand over the card ''Can I have money from the ISA on this account please''...no passbook, no nothing, just take your debit card as the Id/access for it.
No charges, Tax Free interest, no holding period for the money... you can get it out the day you go into the bank as if it was a normal current account..
