hello mate, i just did a quote off elephant
i said i was 24, been driving for 6 years have 5 years no-claims,
occupation engineer (used any occupation, wouldn't make much difference)
i put in 8k miles per year,
the car was worth £18,000 wrx sti uk spec,
i dont know much about scooby's but this is about the best one, not sure what a type r is.
with an old female named driver i got it to £800 fully comp with £300 excess
that souns pretty cheap, i reckon you could get it that cheap if you try, aslong as you dont have points etc.

Default insurance

As above these cars are getting nicked right, left and centre just as the cossie was back in the day, that's what's pushing up the premiums

Fucking villians eh!

most insurers dont like insuring under 30's on imprezas, when i was 27 with 3 years ncb i got quoted £1100 fully comp on a std wrx import

yet a 3 door cossie with 350 bhp and worth 2k more was only £800 fully comp

3k is nothing lol

i had a quote from elephant some years ago for a mk5 escort cabriolet 105bhp xr3i....

came back as £8500

ended up going with flux for £1600 lol

had i known it was a group 16 car at the time i would have got a scooby lol

ok i did have 2 fault claims, 1 non fault claim and a speeding ban to contend with, so i think the £8500 was just a 'please dont try and be insured with us'

I tried for one of these and they said no chance, even my dad who pays 300 for the Cossie got quoted 1200 for an Impreza Type R, insurers dont want owt to do with Jap Imports at the minute

Helen, why is your insurance so much?

mines only 680 with only 3 ncb

as for paying 3000 to insure and impreza....i'd rather cut my knob off with a rusty breadknife!!
