He's kept to the scene unlike a lot of dj's when garage went back to underground they'd go and play house. He can pretty much instantly cue a record. I heard a few years ago he charges something like £750 an hour
I have respect for all dj's.

mind you when I went down to see Paul van Dyk play at Slinky he was fookin awful, double beats everywhere, skipping tunes and he got paid 2k for 2 hours!!

i find when i play at new clubs it takes me a little to get used to the different sound system.i mix with one ear on phones the other on sound system,i dont like mixing in the head phones.maybe its the same for some of the pro's

Problem is too many Dj's will notice how crap he really is, and the non Musically talented will think he's the best thing since a free look at your sister's duff.
I like a good dj that can keep my mind off the bad mixing and be like wow that dude is really good. Me, I've been Dj ing for about 20 years have hung around Great Dj's and piss poor shit one's who thought they were good.
I myself listened to DnB all of 5 mins.. I just couldn't get into the Chipmunk sound LOL.
I hung up my phones a while ago but if this is meant for me to hang them up I'd have to have a chuckle... Don't make me come out of retirement!!

- I've lost count the amount of times I have seen Z live, I've never heard any fuck up's, live, on cd's or his weekly radio show on Kiss 
He seems to be able to cue records in only a handful of seconds, and i still say UKG is one of the hardest sound's to mix! - But, do agree, it's deffo about track selection and the crowd reaction, all the cutting and chopping he does just gets them going wild!

An extended Intro is something that EZ does all the time, his mixing is superb, i've seen him in some of the best clubs in the world and he is simply awesome!
Fair enough if you don't link UK Garage, but shut the fuck up about someone you clearly know nothing about!

Dj Ez is a very good DJ arguably the best in the UKG scene. That is the main mixing style of a garage DJ, surely every genre has its own particuarly common type of mix???
However if its proper DJ'ing you want look no further than the Scratch Perverts. Made up of three DMC World champions the choice of music from Pendulum to Dead Prez To Prodigy and the way they do it is amazing!!

first time i seen him at a club i was 19..... im 27 now
used to be at opera house back when i was 19 alot aswell as temple when it was open
cant belive if hes such a shite DJ hes still doing it tbh
infact after going back to opera a few weeks ago for the first time in 5 years its gotta be said he NEEDS to go back there as there fucking dj repeated more tunes than capital radio
i always thought he was a class dj,,,,, but hes intro anoys me
bring back garage i say,,,, had some of the best nights of my life listening to that stuff,,,, christ im getting old
infact its making me wanna get me decks back of me neighbour and play about everynight for hours trying to make a set for friday,,,,,,, christ i was a shite DJ looking back these days

A lot of DJ's nowadays are living off their reputation and cannot mix properly..or are too lazy (?) to do it. Preferring to just cut the beat then start the next track.
I like to listen to a good mix from track to track and hate it when I'm DJ-ing if it's not right..even tho no-one else notices, I notice.

I used to work for Garage/One Nation and have seen some really disgusting mixing from so called professionals, although not all the time, maybe some of them should leave the class A alone, but nothing come close to the up and coming bedroom dj's who think they can mix in the club enviroment, believe me they just can't, We(One nation) used to run an up and coming room/corridor/broom cupboard basicaly to fill a space for free, well a few guest lists, but the countless demo tape i used to get from these muppets wanting to play the main arena was truly amazing, they used to get launched out of the car window on the way home sorry guys

There are some big name dj's out there who cant mix for shit. the biggest name is that Tiesto cunt. Absolute shit dj yet people worship him as a god.

If your the most technically gifted dj ever in the universe and you play a set of stuff that the crowd dont quiet know your seen as rubbish!

That wasn't the most amazing set he's ever done and was barely out of his intro at all but he's still one of the best DJ's going and like Adam said, he lines up records in the blinks of an eye and is awesome live!

Unlike someone like fatboy slim who does crap remixes, crap mixes..then stands there with his arm in the air waiting for the adoration from the losers who go to listen to him.
I do agree that it's about playing the right tracks, but also about the technical side. That's why I love trying to do long mixes but only play cracking tunes
