happy new year folks

right theresallot of expensive & stunning cars on here so i was wondering what was the best security as i thaught personaly clifford was but ive heard some horror storys about them...any ideas

nothing wrong with clifford at all but it must be installed properly. all the horror stories are down to botched installs. best person to talk to is stu at bsc on here he installed mine.

Damp can also be an issue with cliffords. Personally I wouldnt touch one.
Not impressed with Cobra's either.

My last 2 cars have had Gemini's and they have been absolutely faultless.

(But the fitter is a mate and REALLY took his time - I've had the Saph 3 years, and I still havent spotted the module or any wiring which explains why it took 2 days to fit!)

Choose the fitter more carefully than you choose the alarm would be my advice!

Absolutely. Any alarm is only as the bloke who fits it. I've had Cliffords for 12 years and never had a problem with any, the only issue was on the XR2 when it was fitted (badly) by an apprentice. I did my nut, sorted out and threw in roll ups and intellistart to placate me

Get a Sparkrite or a Moss (with the knight rider style l.e.d's & dashboard mounted sensors) - they're the bollocks

I have a Clifford on my Evo and the Escos has a Toad, both as good as each other IMO.

best security imo for any rs or phat likeness is a garage out of sight out of mind most alarms are good regardless of make but as stated above must be installed properly pissing myself laughing at AJ and the harry moss post had that very alarm night rider bollox on my SDI rover many moons ago one of if not the easiest alarms to by pass don't buy one

get a tracker mate, i can do you a real good deal. If you cant afford that on top of an alarm ,i would get two alarms with 2 immobilisers!

Its a shame the world has come to this

I've got a Clifford G5 on the cossie and it's been faultless. I've also got a Cobra on the Focus and have had no problems with that either. I'd happily recommend both. Best bit with the Clifford is the anti-hijack (BlackJax) which is part of the alarm. I've seen anti-hijack's sell as add on's for almost as much as I paid for the whole alarm.

I agree with the above though that the alarm isn't the most important thing, it's the quality of the fitting. I had a Clifford alarm fitted badly on my old XR3i which ended up having to be stripped out and re-fitted again.

i got a Clifford on the cossie and a Toad Ai606 on the RS2K and both are good alarm systems
