nothing wrong with clifford at all but it must be installed properly. all the horror stories are down to botched installs. best person to talk to is stu at bsc on here he installed mine.

Damp can also be an issue with cliffords. Personally I wouldnt touch one.
Not impressed with Cobra's either.

My last 2 cars have had Gemini's and they have been absolutely faultless.

(But the fitter is a mate and REALLY took his time - I've had the Saph 3 years, and I still havent spotted the module or any wiring which explains why it took 2 days to fit!)

Choose the fitter more carefully than you choose the alarm would be my advice!

Absolutely. Any alarm is only as the bloke who fits it. I've had Cliffords for 12 years and never had a problem with any, the only issue was on the XR2 when it was fitted (badly) by an apprentice. I did my nut, sorted out and threw in roll ups and intellistart to placate me

Get a Sparkrite or a Moss (with the knight rider style l.e.d's & dashboard mounted sensors) - they're the bollocks

get a tracker mate, i can do you a real good deal. If you cant afford that on top of an alarm ,i would get two alarms with 2 immobilisers!

Its a shame the world has come to this

I've got a Clifford G5 on the cossie and it's been faultless. I've also got a Cobra on the Focus and have had no problems with that either. I'd happily recommend both. Best bit with the Clifford is the anti-hijack (BlackJax) which is part of the alarm. I've seen anti-hijack's sell as add on's for almost as much as I paid for the whole alarm.

I agree with the above though that the alarm isn't the most important thing, it's the quality of the fitting. I had a Clifford alarm fitted badly on my old XR3i which ended up having to be stripped out and re-fitted again.
