Default Dilled and Grooved or Just Grooved Disks, Whats the Diff?

Hello lads, Happy New Year from New Zealand.

As per the title, looking at buying new disks for my 2WD Sapphire. I'm keeping with the stock 15" rims and was just wondering before I order which was better?. ie New Disks that are drilled and grooved or disks that are just grooved.
Pros, cons, thoughts?.... (other than your hangover )

i think groved is better as drilled sometimes split when they get hot.

grooved discs are better in my experience, cracks over the holes leading to the discs splitting has happened more than once on solid discs, cracks only tho on vented discs that i have seen

i had drilled and grooved on my car, i could not stand the noise they made so changed to drilled. much better now.

they will only crack if you use poor quality discs, or if you have poor / no air cooling to them. i have given my car loads of stick on these brakes and has been faultless.

grooved will give better resistance over fade, but at the same time will wear your pads out quicker and make a nasty noise when braking hard ( sounds like the wheel is rubbing on the body !!!!! )

go drilled and get some good cooling to them.....

Hi Snow, drilled will crack ! when used hard, try genuine Ford disc's with Pagid "blue" pads for the best braking for road use.

I run ebc blanks on the teg, was recomended them cause a lot the trackday boys seem to warp the shit out of the drilled/grooved type discs.

Dont ask me why thats all i was told and they seem to be fine

I have used drilled and grooved discs and had no problems at all. I would never use Ford discs, there are shite. I always get my discs from:

ive been told by a few top cossie boys that unless your actually upgrading to bigger disks the ford items are better than any after market products

Cheers for the help so far lads
I'm buying them through Woodford Garage Motorsport in the U.K so my choices for disks with my 15" rims are.

- Tarox 40 Groove.
- Tarox Drilled and Grooved

or some that they list as German TUV approved (which I think are NAP, National Autoparts Discs ) they are alot cheaper priced than Tarox.

- German TUV 8 Groove
- German TUV Drilled and Grooved

I had planned on using Ferrodo DS2500 pads all round again.

Thoughts chaps?
