Try Jackson superchargers in the US. I am sure they do a kit.

As said above 300bhp is atainable reliably then budget for an lsd and brakes suspension etc etc.

Tbh i would buy a crx i-vt and turbo it. A good crx can be had for 3k then there are load of b series turbo kits out there there is a turbo integra running 9s in america iirc

Depends what civic hatch you mean you probably on about the ek shape vti. If so there the same motor but heavier so not as quick about 155bhp standard.

Depends what you want out of the car really, track days then an integra with cams itb's and breathing mods is ideal along with suspension and brake upgrade.

If its drag racing the crx's seem to be the quickest due to the weight or lack of it

Watch out for everything as i probably built it

stay away from red ones, try to get a jap import as they have a LSD and recaros and HID lights as std so a good base to work from if not an anniversary one has the seats and windows but no LSD but this is a uk car!!!

BUT why there only 197bhp and 147 ish nm all revs no torque and costs a bomb to supercharge it properly....................

Try driving a std one Pete and try to get the power they have to the tarmac

Good cars but they lose value quickly

I am looking at buying a MK1 CRX. Do you know much about them bud? I would like to either supercharge it or fit an Integra type R engine.

I take it you aint found a head yet

Taz

Major task putting a b series into a mk1 apparently cause they didn come with a b series motor so all the mounts and everything are different.

Hondas aint like fords even the crx 16v and i-vt differ vastly and putting the vt engine in a 16v aint straight forward even though there both b series motors.

why go down the b18 route when the b20? is a better option? but if you have quite a bit of cash to chuck at it theres quite a few people going down the route of a k20 out of the dc5.
they weigh in about the same if you use the gear boxes to go with the engines,

Don't supercharge the type R engine - turbo it.

Makes for an awesome powerplant.

Guy at work just did his integra type R and with a T34 at about 7 psi it did 250+ bhp with no VTEC.

He's just fitted a twin ceramic roller bearing development Turbonetics turbo that's making boost by 2200rpm and will flow over 450bhp

I didnt say go the 1.8 turbo route, i said it depends what you want the car to do.

Ie trackday car na integra b18c5 motor with cams itb's etc etc is a roper tool.

Drag racing i would opt for a crx i-vt with b16a2 motor and turbo it, the 1.6 revs better apparently and the fact a itr motor is about 2k second hand and a 16a2 is £300 makes it a better buy. What i mean is for the price of a standard itr motor you could build a bullet proof b16 turbo motor, even the standard managment cn be mapped to suit.

Thy can be built very cheap to about 450bhp reliably you jst have to know the right people and where to sorce the bits from

we do a civic type R supercharger kit at TTS easily seeing 400bhp+ and many other options from 250+.
we recently had a civic in with a jackson kit on seeing 220bhp we simply stripped it off and bolted on our rotrex unit its now dynoed at 358

Rotrex supercharger is the way to go, turbo like boost with supercharger linearity/progressive power and torque.
There guys running a Rotrex'94 charger at 1.5bar and hoping to get 500bhp+!

But then theres the drivetrain issues.
A reliable 300bhp can be had from a low boost set up with the rotrex.

TTS are suppliers as are www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk for you lot north of border

jacksons are a waste of time if you are looking for real performance, rotrex can be intercooled and have an independent oil supply making installation easily possible in a day, they are easily competing with turboed cars depending on how you look at it, reliable steady power curve with boost always on hand. we can provide a kit for almost any application custom made we also stock civic kits from 250bhp-450bhp as i said before we have last week had a jackson supercharged type R in we simply ripped off the jackson added bigger injectors and our plenum/supercharger kit it came in at 220bhp left with 358 the owner was very happy with it. contact www.TTS-performance.co.uk 01327 858212
