Default Engine cleaners in general - for or against

I am on about all the additives you can buy these days to clean up your injectors, oilways, etc... Are they worth it, a bad idea or just a waste of money ?

ive found they're pretty good actually....the cheap shitty ones you find in the petrol station are cack but the proper ones make a noticable difference.

Put it this way, people think I am lying when I tell them I only check my oil every few months, and my car does not get used lightly.
No rebuilds for me

i flushed out my nova () with diesel years ago. Drained oil, filled up with diesel, ran it for 30 secs and drained it all out again. The amount if sludge that came out was shockin and it was only a k reg at the time so was only a few years old then. Car ran noticeably much much smoother

but i would not try it on my cossie

yes Bob - ran the car like that for over 2 years till we sold it and that car was ragged everywhere (well it was only a 1.2i) and never missed a beat.

You really could tell the difference after flushing it tho but u dont wanna be running the engine for long as it will fook it up.
