I've just got myself and old chipped PS2 so i can play GT4

however, some of the games i've burnt (metal gear solid for the PS1 and MotoGP4 for PS2) it takes me straight to the BROWSER screen where ive got my memory cards and a picture of a disc. if i select the disc it just resets and goes abck to the same screen.

any idea what this means?

 

what chip has the ps2? the laser's NOT reading the discs? on mine you have to hold the on switch until the blue light comes on when playing chipped games!

 

ive burnt it 3 times on 3 different types of media

all the other ones ive done work fine.

 

Have you checked or ammended the hieght of the laser? worked for my old chipped PS2,

Always burn PS2 games at the slowest ure burner will burn it at as the laser is very sensative and wont pick it up if its burned too fast,always works for me that way m8

 

was burnt at slow speed on qood quality media

 

I would say the laser needs a tweek, I bought loads of faulty ones last year and all of them only wanted a little adjustment of the laser

 

mine does this.... think the chips locked

put a movie dvd in then boot up,
it takes you to the browser screen and shows the movie disc and mem card,
eject that disc and put the game in,
should now start the game automatic.

try it a few time if it doesn't work first time, always make sure you unplug the ps2 at the wall for approx 30sec before you try again.
