that's why I said to use the egg
If you cant get it done I might be able to sweet talk a mate of mine into doin it for ya next week. Hes off work and is usually doing something or looking to get elbow deep in engine. Hes good too, forever doing engine conversions and making things go where they shouldnt, clever sod.
PM me if you need me to ask him for ya.

thanks very much mate, i wasnt sure if it was ok to use, glad i didnt put some in
will whack an egg in it and see what happens
Used radweld on my cossie when the radiator shit itself at Stu's the other year, never had a problem with it after that
Turns the coolant a funky colour, but keeps the system nice and sealed too - no damage to the turbocharger as all the cooling system on a turbocharger does is run into the core as a water jacket and out the other side - just like your oil modine really

Its not so bad now as to when I first started using PF, people pretty much ignored me. Im always willing to try and help out or just have a bit banter.

i can't for the life of me picture it,but removal would be possible i guess if you can see it (just tap one side with a screwdriver and hammer) but refitting a new one will be impossible unless you can fit a suitable sized socket or something to bash it in square.....they are interference fit so you won't just wiggle it in with your finger,it needs to be pushed in squarely
Bar Seal is good too (looks like a small white tube of smarties, you just crumble it into your header tank)
