It's Ł42.99 in my local Halfords, I guess it would be the same price around the country, give or take a Ł1 or Ł2.
Plus this is posted to your door, no trip to the shops needed!
But fair point, postage is a pain, but still cheaper than the obvious outlets.

Having tested EVERY one of the top oils in my car, this is the BEST. There is no arguement about it, as Rod has also done the same thing and after his high speed runs, his oils have been sent away for testing. The Silkolene was the only one that had not badly degraded . He also will no longer use anything else .
As has been mentioned by the Oilman, the Castrol RS isn't even a fully synthetic and is mineral based . Also, its molecular structure unwinds when it gets hot and this causes the oil to expand. So on a Cossie used on track, you can only fill it to the three quarter mark, or it will expand and go above the full level and get blown out the breather / blow seals .

We use 15/40 but I think that may be a bit thin!
The coz doesn't get used in the winter, just started up regularly.

15K+ Super Poster!!
I have the Silkolene in at the moment, and it is a touch rattly about 2 mins after start, then quietens down. It's the 10W50, a few others have reported this problem too. I may change to the 15W50. The Millers 10W60 sounded ok.

Hi Mike
I did speak to Oilman (guy) ages ago and did ask him what oil to use on my cossie for trackdays and he did say to use the Silkolene Pro R 15/50
he did ask me what oil i was using i said well i have been using the castrol RS 10/60 he then said well exactly what you just said that it wasn't even a fully synthetic oil at all it was just mineral based oil still
I spose the castrol Rs at the time was better than normal oil
onething about oilman he is straight to the point he sells alot of oil and not just one brand so on his recomendation thats what i put in the cos
I need to speak to him again and see what he recommends for the Rs2000 mk5 Escort that needs a service now the oil is getting a dark brown now and have done 2 track days

the new castrol stuff is fully syn i think?
i have had no probs with the castrol in my engine but i suppose we will have to wait until its stripped for a rebuilt before you can tell how much its worn.
might change to silkolene after all the good reports

Mobil Rallye 5W/50 in the Evo in Summer - oil temps of up to 120deg.
0W/40 in Winter, but then it does get quite cold here sometimes and on a normal run the oil wont even make 85deg.
