my computer has stopped making any noise (playing sound clips or web video clips) if use a web browser either IE or firefox and the wbpage got some music attached to it, or maybe youtube nothing will come out my speakers!

if the webpage opens windows media player all is fine and i can hear again

i have no quick launch icon no more for speaker control! but i can get it up through control panel, but still no sound in web pages

any ideas please guys?

You probably made this whole no sound scenario up just to have me insult you

 

Have you turned it off and on again.....

 

If you turn down media player it controls the computer sound level, so turns your sounds off if you turn it all the way down. Could have done that?

You done anything recently which you noticed sound has stopped working since?

Sorry Gareth but I too am having sound issues on my Laptop... Was working perfectly but I did something ages ago and really cant figure out how to get it working, I have no sound whatsoever, except warning beeps when I delete emails on aol, which sound like some kind os MS DOS type basic beeps ....


If I opens sounds and devices, it shows "no audio device" .. But if I go to devices in sound options, and select all the different options they are "all working properly"

I have tried reinstalling drivers which came with PC to no avail..
