Default BMW M5 advise required

Looking at one with a friend on Saturday. It's been stood for 6 months so is suffering with a very flat battery.

Any hints, tips, advice on what to look for and anything special we should do to get it to kick into life.

From the description I've been given it sounds like shape around K registration.

I know very little about these cars but am going as I know enough about cars to be of help.

I'll get reg details later tonight with any luck

If its a K plate its a e34...the rear shockers are nearly Ł500 + vat each self leveling...they are getting old & rough now there is 2 that still comes in here & they have had ŁŁŁŁŁŁŁŁ spent replacing suspension & brake pipes you name it....

If its got a flat battery it could have an electrical fault (Keeps draining batteries) and thats maybe why it got laid up in the first place?

Got to be really carefull with a non runner that is so expensive to repair

You have got to ask why a m5 would be parked up in the first place

When he said it had been stood for so long I was concerned but I'm not a BMW man so thought it best to ask for advise. Will have to go into this very carefully I think.

I thought you had just bought a house mate. If so, I would hold off for 6 months until you see what happens with the cash flow. I bought my Evo a month after my apartment and struggled for a few months. Its not nice and had I waited until now to buy it, I would have been much better financially.

Also a car like that getting long in the tooth and being high performance, would tread very carefully as you say. I would go for something far newer and not so much of a financial burden.
